- en_US I have enjoyed Laptev's illustrations previously in I. Krolov: Valitud Valmid (Estonian) and also in Detgiz editiions of 1951 and 1954. Here each illustration is a full-page bordered black-and-white facing its fable text. The more I see of them, the more I like them! This edition, by contrast with those earlier Detskaya editions, has a canvas binding, and the illustrations are more firmly printed. The front cover features a gold-and-red presentation of Rooster and Cuckoo within a golden frame. There is a T of C at the back.
