- Abstract
- en_US This is an unusual book for our collection. As far as I can understand, it is a gallery's offering on two works by Jacques Jordaens: "Hermes at Calypso's Table" and "The Satyr and the Peasant Family." The latter Aesopic item covers 58 to 71. I find the analyses exhaustive and careful in offering comparisons with other works, by Jordaens and others, on the same motif. 10½" square. Aesop's influence spreads even further than we might think!
