1960? Fables de la Fontaine, Volume IV. Read by members of Comédie Française. Microgroove Records FRL 1525. Bernard Lebow: Dust jacket printed in the USA. $4 from Stephane St-Arnaud, Montreal, Canada, through Ebay, Nov., '99.
There are eight favorite La Fontaine fables on the Side A and six on Side B. This record seems to have been produced in this country. The dust jacket is in English.
1960? Fables de la Fontaine, Volume I. Read by members of Comédie Française. Select M-298.038 Mono. Recorded by Pleiade in France. Made in Canada. Unknown source.
Since we already have Volume IV in this series, I find it fascinating that our two volumes of this large set were produced by different companies in different places. The 13 fables on Side A here come from Book 1, while the 12 on Side B are from Books 1-2. By contrast with our other holding, this record jacket is in French.
1970? Fables de La Fontaine, Volume 2. Interpretees par la Compagnie du Tourne-Conte. La collection “Le Petit Poucet.” Stereo. PCA-973. Production Dupuy-Compton. Realisé specialement pour Danone.
The dust-jacket verso lists six fables. The colorful front of the jacket seems to be presenting other fables. Perhaps these are presented in Volume 1.
