My, Hachette has so many different series! This is our fifteenth book by Hachette and Romain Simon, but seems to belong to a series we otherwise do not have. From the list on the back of this 20-page pamphlet, it seems that this may be the only fable book in the series. The first copyright for the book was in 1954. One of the book's surprises is that its front cover announces only FS. Its title-page then mentions FS, GA, and "The Heron" in that order. The book presents in fact GA, then FS, and finally "The Heron." This pictorial representation of GA puts the grasshopper inside the ant's winter home. The best image in GA is of the scowling ant at her stove. The book's central pair of pages in FS has the fox winking to the reader, while the stork is dripping soup from her beak. About a dozen children's literature characters adorn the endpapers.
