There is already an identical copy of this book in the collection, found in January of 2002. I include this copy as well because both copies have shortcomings. In that copy, the lower right corner is seriously bumped and the spine is starting to deteriorate. This copy is slightly warped. In each case, this book with board covers is a simpler version of a copy in the collection with cloth covers and a dust-jacket. The Ulm "Esopus" picture adorns the front-cover board. The woodcuts of Steinhöwel's Ulm edition are beautifully reproduced: a title piece of Aesop, ten from the vita, and twenty-four with fables. I had heard of this book but figured I would never find it. Now we have three copies in the collection and even an extra of the cloth-covered version!
