Abstract

The fables in this little volume from Aesop include "The Eagle and the Turtle"; "The Fox, the Dog, and the Lamb"; "The Fat and Skinny Chickens"; DS; TH; DM; FC; and "The Man and the Lion." Botia signs the cover with a dramatic view of the fox (or wolf?) and the rooster. Which fable is that mean to refer to? Colorful illustrations typically present the characters but may not help focus the story's specific action. Why does the DM not have the dog in the manger? The fable about the fat and skinny chickens comes clear on the day that the cook needs to prepare a meal. The fat chickens have been mocking the skinny ones. Now they receive their comeuppance. I am delighted to be filling out this collection of "mis fábulas."
