Heretofore my earliest Girardet edition published by Mame has been in 1863. Bodemann #330 lists a first illustrated edition in 1857, which had been preceded by an unillustrated version in 1853. That 1857 illustrated edition seems to be, then, this very book! Several later and apparently identical editions were published by Mame. Despite some foxing, the small illustrations are sharp. 3 3/4" x 5 1/2". 396 pages.
