This booklet is one of twelve published by Rekos in Greek, apparently upon the designs done by Susaeta for a European-language edition. Its sixteen pages display excellent and lively colored illustrations. This good version of BC has two good contrasting pairs of illustrations. Contrast the centerfold's distraught discussion before the bright idea with the two-page spread two pages later, where everyone after the bright idea's proclamation is delighted and even euphoric. Again, contrast the clever, self-satisfied face of the bell-holding mouse proclaiming the bright idea with the face of the wise old doubting mouse two pages later. The version has a curt moral even I can understand: to logia eukola…ta erga duskola. Words are easy, but deeds are hard.
