Abstract

Aesop in this small (4½" x 6½") paperback gets 7-157, while Ierocles' 63 jokes occupy 158-177. There is a T of C of the fables at the volume's end on 179-87. There are 195 numbered fables with occasional black-and-white illustrations. Among the better illustrations are OR (41); DS (55); "The Miser" (87); and FC (107, also on the cover in orange and black). The jokes seem to me to be unremarkable.
