Abstract

This 32-page pamphlet, 5" x 7¼", offers nine traditional fables dramatized for greater learning for those learning English. The fables are all from the usual Aesopic tradition. There are about three helpful duochrome (black and orange) illustrations with each fable, starting with BS, the major illustration for which also appears on the cover. Most fables, like the second, are broken into phases: "The Broken Handle"; "The Meeting of the Trees"; "The Next Day." At the pamphlet's end we find "Questions and Tests" (28). I am delighted to have found this piece of ephemera. And we found it in Budapest!
