Abstract

This is a pamphlet 6.5 x 10 with six French-fold (double) pages. Surprisingly, the story of Tibert's being sent to bring Reynard into the court breaks off here just as it gets interesting. We hear nothing of Tibert's being caught by the priest and counter-attacking. The colophon has this: The linocuts were cut by C.B. Manson, who took his inpsirtation from an illumination from W.102, circa 1290 English book of hours in the Walter's Art Museum. Edition of 200. The cover illustration has the rabbit ringing the church bells; the back cover's illustration depicts Reynard himself, presumably at the gates of Malepardus. This is a very finely made publication!
