Abstract

I am delighted to have been given the whole set of five Aesop's Sticker Fun booklets through the kindness of Barbara Hooper of Frederic Thomas and Cheryl Haire of Chick-fil-A. Each of the ten illustrations in this sixteen-page stapled pamphlet has a white section where a reader inserts one of the stickers into the picture. Lizzy is not happy being a donkey; she envies Lucky the dog. After a day of thinking it over, she begins trying on the dog's life. She even gets into the house and tries to jump on Sam's lap. She has already been shooed out of Rita's kitchen. Sam is wise enough to give her a carrot, walk her to her stall, and tell her You're a great donkey, Lizzy, but you are a very silly dog. From now on, she resolves, I am going to be happy to be me, because I'm special in my own way. This seems to be the only book in this Sticker Fun series that does not replicate one I have from the Between the Lions series of 2005, also done by Chick-fil-A. I suspect that they produced such a booklet, and I did not find it.
