Abstract: en_US Loeb's original 1965 edition was reprinted in 1975 and 1984 -- and then again in 1990. Here is a copy from the last of those printings. A valuable book. The index of subjects at the back includes the 700+ fables, here in Babrius' Greek and Phaedrus' Latin. The numeration and division follow his earlier Aesopica (1952). The introductory essay covers a great deal of territory. On a par with things like the Penguin and Daly for getting back to originals.
