This booklet is one of twelve published by Rekos in Greek, apparently upon the designs done by Susaeta for a European-language edition. Its sixteen pages display excellent and lively colored illustrations. For me, the two outstanding illustrations in this nice booklet show the milkmaid skipping and dancing just before her mishap and then looking back distraught over the milk splashing from the broken jug. Seldom is a milkmaid as animated as this lass! Galaktopolissa is almost Homeric!
