Abstract: en_US Note that this is a reprint of Bewick's later Aesopic work, not the Select Fables of 1776/1784. Comparison of this work with the 1975 Paddington reprint of the 1818 edition raises questions: this one is smaller and shows slightly different typesetting of the texts, though the pagination seems to come out exactly the same. And how can a book be a facsimile of two editions? The impressions of the wood-engravings are unfortunately poor, and there is some staining. Still, any Bewick book is a treasure.
