Abstract

Here is a twelve-page large-format pamphlet portraying part of Mes Fables d'Animaux from Touret, for which edition I have guessed a date of 1975. This pamphlet measures 9 x 11¾. It is one of three in the Contes de ma mère-grand series that represent fables. The mice here are dressed and the town mouse drives a car, though it has a wind-up key! The country mouse lives in an old shoe. The final picture of the country mouse sleeping in an improvised hammock made out of a corn husk is splendid! The colored illustrations are lively and tasteful. Many cover a whole page, while others are integrated around text.
