"Texte Persan Publié avec des Notes en Français." Here is a surprising find that was sitting on the "Mythology" shelf at Second Story. Online I have found a copy for 99 Euros, perhaps seven or eight times the cost I paid. I know of "Anwar i Suhaili" as part of the title of Wilkinson's "Lights of Canopus" from 1929. This book has its title at our front but then reads from the back towards the front. It is a delight to see -- in the titles -- stories I recognize, not least from La Fontaine. Thus the very first is "Les deux pigeons." A bit later we run into "Les troix poissons." Still later is "La femme que la crainte d'un voleur réconcilie avec son époux." La Fontaine chose well from these stories! The texts and page numbers are Arabic. This is a strange and wonderful find! Four pages of errata come between the title-page and the last of the stories.
