Abstract: en_US A delightful book of twenty-four stories. Four are Aesopic: TH (#4, identical with The Hedgehog and the Hare ); The Tortoise, the Goat, and the Lion (#7, about learning how to divide); Two Goats (#20); and DS (#24). The last, with a good illustration, has the dog jump in. Also funny: #5 and 13 (which provokes the good frontispiece art). Typical African: #11, 17, and 19. Simple household dialogue spins the stories together. I want to look for the author's Some Day Been Dey.
