Abstract: en_US This is a pleasant little (4½ x 5¾) book of original animal stories about twelve pages in length. The first six of its 224 pages consist of blanks and the title-page. The rest is entirely stories, with large print and very slender outside margins. Each story is preceded by a rectangular illustration about 2x 2½ with angled corners on a left-hand page of its own. The stories I read are not fables. They include multiple incidents meant to reinforce lessons of obedience, kindness, and the avoidance of vanity. The book is in poor condition. Half of 221-222 is missing, and a tear mars 211-220. The spine is pulling away from the rest of the book.
