This is a stout paperback of 470 pages offering 240 numbered La Fontaine fables. The edition may be unusual in disregarding La Fontaine’s “books” to number consecutively. The introductory elements are in Chinese. Then an English T of C and Thornbury's introduction to La Fontaine in English. FC illustration on the front cover and La Fontaine cameo portrait on the back. The book, well executed, is testimony to a significant triangle. The Chinese want to make the French La Fontaine available in English. 4’ x almost 7”.
