Abstract

en_US This book is identical with another in the collection except for a few features. Like that book, it uses the plates used in my apparent first edition of Jack Orr's Aesop's Fables, which I have listed under 1927? Please see my extensive comments there, especially on the best of Orr's black-and-white illustrations. There is here, as there, only one colored illustration: the frontispiece, The Thieves and the Cook. Both books are 96 pages long. The three differences I find in the two books are these. First, this book uses MSA for its simple three-colored front cover. Secondly, it shifts to the page facing the T of C page here what was on the last page there, namely a list of books in the series. The list has expanded from seven to nine. Thirdly, this book has perhaps the thickest pages I have encountered. That book was slightly less than ¾ thick. This book is well over 1 thick.
